sunshine and health

Cancer and Sunshine Do Not Mix! I am certain that you are aware of the controversy regarding whether sunlight is good or bad for us. There have been reports in the media that sunshine can actually cause cancer, but the motive behind these allegations and propaganda is suspect, to say the least. On the other hand, if sunlight were a mainstream drug. It would probably make the cover of "Time" magazine, and be heralded as the greatest medical breakthrough in the history of modern medicine - it really is that powerful. Sunlight exposure is well-known to provoke the production of vitamin D in the body and can reduce the risk of many cancers by more than 50 percent. It can even help to reverse certain types of cancers. The question is why has there not being more research on a natural healing source that has been around much before man became known on this planet? Has not only ignored this truly miraculous cure are many types of cancer, that it has actually tried to discredit it as Dr. Michael Holick, who was attacked for speaking out about the truth of sunlight and cancer.A four-year clinical trial involving 1,200 women found those taking the vitamin had about a 60-per-cent reduction in cancer incidence, compared with those who didn't take it, a drop so large - twice the impact on cancer attributed to smoking - it almost looks like a typographical error. WHERE’S THE EVIDENCE BETWEEN VITAMIN D AND CANCER? Two new …

Doctors Free to Practice Alternative Medicine! MEDICAL DOCTORS FREE AT LAST! By Eugene Fox FREE - AT LAST! On December 21, 2000 history was quietly made in the Legislature of the Province of Ontario, Canada. A law was passed that is significant to us all, no matter where we live. It is "Bill 2, An Act to amend the Medicine Act, 1991." It is a rarity for private member's bills (not sponsored by the Government) to pass. This one passed unanimously. Monte Kwinter, Liberal MPP, the bill's author, comments, "(it is) sublime in its wording but profound in its impact." Very true, health care will never be the same! This is the official explanation of the Act: "The Bill ensures that physicians who provide non-traditional therapies or alternative forms of medicine are not found guilty of professional misconduct or incompetence unless there is evidence that proves that the therapy poses a greater risk to a patient's health than the traditional or prevailing practice." Ontario doctors are now unshackled. They can now advocate nutraceuticals and other alternatives for their patients without fear of reprisal. This is a new day! Mr. Kwinter explains, "(the bill has) only has 68 words, and it says: 'A member (of the College of Physicians and Surgeons) shall not be found guilty of professional misconduct or of incompetence under section 51 or 52 of the Health Professions Procedural Code solely on the basis that the member practices a therapy that is non-traditional or that departs from the …

The Blinkers of Allopathic Medicine THE MEDICAL MODEL OF DISEASE I have since gathered some interesting insights into the perception of the allopathic doctors towards disease which I would like to share with you. In my attempt to try to understand their way of thinking, and their general approach to disease, I have postulated a model which I have entitled “The Aetiology of Disease” – this is the premise of Holistic Medicine which incorporates allopathic as well as all the modalities of natural medicine. Generally, with few exceptions, allopathic doctors perceive the body as a physical and chemical composition, much like a mechanic would view a machine. It is important to examine this structure  using a variety of technologies such as X-rays, MRI’s, CT scans, biochemical lab tests and the like are all measuring the physical structure and existence of different parts of the body from organs (their size, shape and whether there are any structural abnormalities), the various tissues down to the cellular level to determine pathology of their structure (number of erythrocytes, white blood cells, platelets, histopathological structure of different cells etc), and the biochemical constituents of the blood, plasma and body fluids. Allopathic doctors are extremely well trained in looking at the physical and chemical composition of the body, and they spend many years in medical school doing just this. However, this “mechanistic” perception of the body has many limitations as this only allows us to view one perspective of the human body, when in fact there are …

root canals

Root Canal Coverup This article was prepared by Dr. Wesley Shankland, Director, TMJ & Facial Pain Center in Columbus, Ohio, USA. Books written by Dr. ShanklandFor the past 50 years, dentists have saved millions of teeth by performing endodontic therapy, or root canals. Dental students and residents in Endodontics (the speciality in dentistry devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases inside teeth) have been taught to perform various procedures to save injured, dead, and dying teeth. These procedures were taught purely to help the public, with absolutely no other reason. The dental profession succeeded in teaching the value of saving teeth. However, today, there has been some revealing research which may require the dental profession to reconsider conventional ideas about endodontically treated teeth. Today, there are many reputable doctors (dentists, physicians, and Ph.D's) who are concerned about endodontic therapy and possible systemic effects on other organs and tissues in the body. It may even astound most dentists that the organisms which may be present in dead teeth may be impossible to eradicate no matter how well the root canal procedure is performed! These organisms are not actually in the canal portion of the tooth, but in the tiny microscopic tubules which comprise the dentin (the material below the enamel which is more organic than enamel) of the tooth. Herein lies the scientific question: does it matter that these organisms remain viable even after endodontic therapy? Researchers on both sides of this heated issue agree that these organisms do stay …

Mercury Fillings and Health New evidence unearthed by Dr Jack Levenson, the dentist who has led the fight against amalgam fillings in the UK, shows that dental fillings could be behind the burgeoning of many 20th century conditions. It is generally accepted that when a disease such as influenza reaches 400 per 100,000, or 0.4 per cent of the population, it is then considered to be of epidemic proportions. In January 1997, the British Dental Association (BDA) issued a fact file on mercury, stating: "About 3 per cent of the population are estimated to suffer from mercury sensitivity."Three per cent of the UK population alone would represent some 1.75 million people, of whom about one million would have mercury amalgam fillings. Despite these potentially huge casualties, no action is taken on mercury toxicity and, unlike BSE and AIDS, it has attracted relatively little media attention. No public money has been allocated for research. Nevertheless, current research suggests that mercury vapour from fillings may be one of the predominant underlying causes of a broad spectrum of conditions, ranging from gum disease, migraine, headaches, poor memory, depression, anxiety, mental lethargy, chronic fatigue, growth, allergies such as eczema and asthma, and sensitivity reactions to food and inhalants, to rheumatism, arthritis, backache, kidney disease, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders. HORMONAL IMBALANCES Some research has focused on particular problems among women exposed to mercury. One study showed that such women experienced disturbances in the menstrual cycle such as excessive blood …

The Dangers of Focal Teeth Infections Author Dr. Robert Gammal BDS FACNEM (dent) 1998 Visit the website of Dr. Gammal Biocompatible Dentistry for more articles At the Da Vinci Holistic Health Center in Larnaca, Cyprus we always check for tooth foci as part of the IDEL Diagnostic Programme. INTRODUCTION In recent years there has been a reawakening of the dangers of oral infections and their potential disastrous effects on systemic health. Dead and infected teeth are often treated 'conservatively' in modern dentistry by performing a treatment called Root Canal Therapy. As dentists we are indoctrinated that it is better to save a tooth at any cost - although the real costs to individual health and the society at large are usually totally overlooked by the teaching institutions. This may at first seem surprising considering that dentistry is touted as a health providing profession. On the other hand, if the dental profession were to accept the reality of Focal Infection (and the potential sources of this oral infection), we would have to reassess some of the fundamental treatment concepts being taught and practiced in dentistry. Root Canal Therapy must surely be one of the prime candidates for this reassessment. With the resurgence of an interest in this area, there is also a blatant resistance by the dental profession of the reality of Focal Infection Theory. Both the Australian Dental Association and the universities have stated that Focal Infection is a concept dating back 150 years and one, which has been disproven by recent …

root canals and illness

Root Canals and Health A Brief Paper Summarising Some Of The Difficulties Associated With The Treatment Of Dead Teeth Prepared by Robert Gammal BDS WHAT IS ROOT CANAL THERAPY The aim of Root Canal Therapy is to 'save' a tooth which has become infected or dead, in an attempt to make it functional and pain free. After scraping out the inside of the tooth the dentist will attempt to disinfect the tooth and the canals to eliminate any source of infection. The canal is then filled with a combination of cement and Gutta Percha in an attempt to completely occlude these canals. This is supposedly to prevent any microorganisms from entering the tooth either through the crown or the root. If you consider pain control, mechanical function and aesthetics to be the limit of good dental treatment, then you will have "SAVED" the tooth. If systemic effects are included in your concept of dentistry, than you must understand that all that has happened, is that you have kept dead, infected tissue, buried in the bone, within a couple of inches from your brain. For some obscure reason we are all conditioned to think that teeth are not a part of the body, but that they are inert calcified material, and that they are sort of dead anyway. Dentistry is the only one of all the medical & para-medical professions that thinks it is a good idea to keep dead, gangrenous tissue in the body. The way to do this is …

full spectrum light

The Healing Power of Full Spectrum Light Good health can be maintained and many disease conditions alleviated with adequate exposure to full spectrum light. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT: MYTHS AND FACTS America has a phobia, an irrational fear, about ultraviolet (UV) light. In a new science fad, unwise practices are being urged on us. The resulting sickness and misbehaviour will mystify yet enrich physicians, psychiatrists, dentists and criminal specialists as well as pharmaceutical drug companies. In too many scientific and medical fields, for a lot of researchers the truth is defined only in relationship to the next grant, peer pressure and the fight to further an entrenched view. This essentially political process goes on despite any - in this case very strong - evidence to the contrary.1 Much "science" research is known to be fraudulent.2, 3 Such a flow of funded research almost exclusively in one direction is characteristic of potentially dangerous science fads. Almost all "scientists" are out to prove something so as to continue their careers; to them, finding the truth is only secondary. UV intensity is now forecast in population centres daily. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) suggests that when outdoors we should "protect ourselves against ultraviolet light whenever we can see our shadow". And many physicians give their patients the same warning. This is terrible advice. If man were a machine, a doctor could repair or replace one part without worrying about the rest of the contraption. Man is no machine, but more like a web or …
